Jay and Erwyd were in the local news again this week, after performing at the Spring Fun Days in Prestatyn.
Spring Fun was the first event organised by new events coordinator at Prestatyn Town Council, Kimberley Edmunds.
Kimberley said: “Everyone had an extremely fun filled time. People travelled from outside the area as well as coming from within the town due to the fact that the event took place towards the end of the school holiday rather than the main Easter weekend when there is a lot of competition for activities to get involved with.
It was lovely seeing families working together to solve the treasure hunt and seeing the joy on the faces when they solved the clues to create a word and win their prizes.
“The street shows and walkabout entertainment provided by Erywd Le Fol and Jay Gatling was hugely successful. Many families returned for the second day of the event just to see them perform again.”
I am writing to congratulate you on being selected as the official Conwy Tournament Wizard by Conwy Chamber of Trade.
It must have been a fabulous surprise and you should be extremely proud of the fact that you were chosen, given the high number of applicants.
The Tournament sounds wonderful and it is fabulous to hear that you will be performing over the two day event, I am certain the crowds will be spell bound by your wizardry.
All that remains is for me to wish you every success for the event and best wishes for the future.
“Huge thanks to Jay from Gatling Magic for performing at a private party last night doing a mix of close up and cabaret magic, polite, funny and professional, his performance was spot on and left the guests amazed, I couldn’t believe some of the tricks – simply amazing! Great value for money, hugely entertaining, worth every penny, we will be using him again for future events! “
Jay was recently invited to take part in the annual showcase held by Paul Bridson Productions. Held at the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel near Chester, the showcase was well attended by many in the industry.
A review of the showcase has just been published in UK Cabaret, including a brief overview of Jay’s performance that evening.
For some reason, when magician Jay Gatling leapt on stage, I immediately thought of Harry Potter, but without the spectacles. The style of patter was very much of the Derren Brown witty, throwaway style and the audience participation content would appeal to adult audiences. All of which would seem to mean that this successful showcase outing may well attract some corporate style business.
