Llandudno Summer Season 2013

We’re delighted to be able to confirm that we’ll be taking part in the summer variety shows in Llandudno town hall again this year.

This will be our fifth year of summer shows with Happy Faces Children’s Charity, and we’re really looking forward to working with them again.

Provisional dates are every Wednesday from the beginning of May to the beginning of October, and we’ll give you more information as soon as we have it.

Viv Perry, Mayor of the Bay of Colwyn

I was so pleased that Jay Gatling agreed to take part in a young peoples’ variety show “Shine” at Theatr Colwyn, Colwyn Bay on Nov 30th 2012.

The act formed the finale of the show and was lively, colourful and clever. It left the audience completely spellbound and wondering “How on earth did they do that?”

I would not hesitate to ask them back if I put on another show, and will certainly recommend them to others.

We were delighted to be asked by Viv Perry, the Mayor of the Bay of Colwyn, to take part in Shine recently. Theatr Colwyn is a special place for us, as it’s where Elemental’s first public performance took place.

The show was a celebration of the talents of young people in the Colwyn Bay area, and featured lot of local acts, including dancers The Unknown, Hallam Cleverley, Bryn Ellian School, Alaw Tastig and  Kieran Eastwood-Mulvaney, with Mr Dilwyn Price as the compere. All proceeds from the show went to McMillan Cancer Support and Action for Children (Young Carers).

I couldn’t resist taking this photograph of our dressing room door – we’ve never had a star on the door before! Oddly enough, this was the same dressing room as our first performance here in 2009.

It was lovely to be back at Theatr Colwyn, and we hope we’ll be back again soon!

What we’ve been doing this summer

It’s been a while since I posted anything on the blog, so here’s a quick round up of what we’ve been doing.

We were medieval magicians in July, doing street magic on the quay in Conwy, and we also took part in the Conwy Jester Weekend in August. The lovely face painting was done by Kaleigh from HTC Entertainments.

It hasn’t been all outdoor work though; we were part of the Rachel Silva Show in Rhyl Golf club in July, and of course we’ve been continuing with the summer season. Those Were the Days, the 1940s/wartime show went on the road in August to take part in Penmaenmawr’s Wales at War 1940’s weekend. We performed in the community hall, and it was great to see so many of the audience dressed up, it made a brilliant atmosphere!

We spent a day outside Asda in Llandudno, helping to raise money for their community fund and promoting our show, Illusionary. You can see more photos of the day on the Asda Green Room website.

The show itself took place on the 1st of September in the Orme Suite in Venue Cymru. Featuring High Jinx, Harley and Elemental, together with Dean Raymond and Joe Daly, it was a great night, and we’re very grateful to everyone who helped make it a success.

There’s three more weeks left of our summer season with Happy Faces Children’s Charity in Llandudno town hall. Tickets are still available for both shows, Seaside Special, and Those Were The Days. (Please note, Jay and I won’t be there on the 26th and 27th of September, as we’ll heading off to a magic convention.)

And what will we be doing next? Well, we’re back in the Tynedale Hotel in Llandudno at the beginning of October for another of their Variety Breaks, and we’ve also just started work on a project for a local car dealership. We’ll tell you all about it soon!
