Erwyd – The Conwy Jester

Our friend Erwyd was officially installed as the Conwy Jester last weekend in a traditional medieval ceremony within the walled town.

He’s the first jester to live within the walls of Conwy in over 700 years, and had to prove his worth by completing three trials before he was awarded his jester’s hood.

We were both there to support Erwyd on his big day, and Jay even got to perform a little bit of magic during the ceremony.

Conwy Jester Show – Summer 2015

Jay is joining Ewyd Le Fol, the Conwy Jester, for a series of shows over the summer.

The fun, family show, takes place at the Royal British Legion in Conwy throughout the summer holidays, every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 1pm and 3pm, from the 29th of July to the 29th of August.

Featuring the hilarious antics of Erwyd; with amazing tricks and silly stunts, the show will have you amazed and rolling around with laughter.

Tickets are just £5, and can be bought online at http://erwyd.brownpapertickets.com, by telephone on 0800 4118881, or in person at the venue on the day of show.

Two The Hilt: Conwy Pirate Weekend 2015

Conwy Pirate Weekend 2015 saw the début performance of Two The Hilt’s epic pirate sword fight.

Erwyd had discovered a rare artefact, one that Gatling had been searching for… so like all good pirates, they decided to settle the matter of ownership with a good old-fashioned duel!

Swords clashed and banter was traded, and after the blindfold challenge was complete, only one pirate could be victorious.

There was a great atmosphere with so many of the crowd dressed up in their best pirate costumes, and it was fabulous to be out in the sunshine. All our audiences over the weekend were really enthusiastic, cheering on their favourite pirate to win.

Conwy Pirate Weekend 2015 Photographs

We had a blast at Conwy Pirate Weekend, and we’ve got lots of pictures to share with you all.

As you can see, Jay absolutely loved dressing up as a pirate!

This was the 4th annual pirate weekend, and just like last year things got off to a damp start with rain on the Saturday morning. Thankfully, the weather improved and by midday there was bright sunshine.

But a little bit of rain didn’t dampen anybody’s enthusiasm, and there were soon crowds of people down on the quay to enjoy the event.

There was plenty to see and do, including cannon fire, pirate re-enactment, birds of prey, and a pirate circus show.

The barrel races were spectacular, with fierce competition for first place, but there could only be one winner.

Captain Jay took the crowds on a magical voyage, with his Journey of Wonder show.

Conwy Pirate Weekend 2015 was brilliant, and we can’t wait to be back again next year for the 5th anniversary!

Conwy Pirate Weekend 2015

Ahoy there! Gatling Magic will be at Conwy Pirate Weekend on the 20th and 21st of June.

Join Captain Jay for his magical Voyage of Wonder on Capitan Jackdaw’s stage at 11am and 2pm both days.
